Fantastic product.
Set on the top clip height this leveled my 2017 f150 supercrew FX4 with tow package. It also allowed for a much larger 295 70 18 (34″ x 11.5″) tire on an 18×9 wheel offset ET18 with no rubbing or modifications to wheel housings / crash bars.
Ride is superior to stock. The rear shocks have far more initial bump compliance than stock FX4 shocks. Rear end “jiggle” is eliminated. The front end is more planted with a more controlled initial reaction to bumps as well and less brake dive. Overall the truck feels more planted and far more luxurious on road with a more confident driving feel on sub-par roads.

I purchased these to level the truck, it’s set at the top ring 2”. The truck still has a slight rake which I wanted. You definitely can feel the difference between the stock shocks and these. The truck has a more controlled handling and bumps are absorbed better. The ride is a little more ridged, it might take some time to get used to but not a negative. Great purchase!

The rebound valving is absolutely of higher quality and better implementation than we have on our stock F150’s. There is allot more low speed rebound which does a great job at controlling the bed hop skip and waggle we all hate, but it also achieves a very light high speed rebound, which makes for fast recovery of consecutive hits allowing the suspension to maintain ride height in rough terrain.
Compression valving is where I feel it leaves allot to be desired. Bilstein claims a digressive valving and it most certainly is. It basically means there is a ton of low speed compression. This translates into the suspension having excellent authority over the chassis, greatly reducing role while cornering and dive under braking. It makes the truck feel “sporty”. Like a sports car! In other words, your small bump compliance is trashed! Expansion joints and cracks in the road are jarring. I had the 6112’s adjusted at ride height, so no fault due to preload.
Off road the system keeps the chassis high which is great for maintaining clearance, but due to the excessive low speed compression the suspension really struggles to maintain traction. It transfers all small square edged hits straight into the chassis, rather than moving the wheel up and over the obstacle. It’s uncomfortable as hell in the cabin, even when airing down to uncomfortably low pressures. This thick slice of compression damping does mean bottom out is well controlled and you will have to be pretty stupid to blow through all the travel.
All in all I’m very disappointed. It claims to provide a perfect balance of comfort and performance off road. Instead it completely destroys small bump compliance in favor af chassis support. It makes the truck feel more like an uncomfortable, stiffly sprung track car rather than a well sorted off road rig. Compliance is your friend off road and this system just does not have it. And it ruins comfort on the road. I understand compromises need to be made for performance, but this is too biased in my opinion.

I found this site while shopping for bilstien B8 6112 and 5160 package with the front struts being pre-assembled. The price was pretty good but the customer service was better. I wanted to change my setting from a 4 to 5 on the struts. Text them and it was done. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars cause the tops of the front strut mounts were not aligned with the bottom strut mount. My friend had to align them.
