Bilstein B8 5100 (Steering Damper) is designed as an upgrade to factory steering dampers on trucks and SUVs. Utilizing our proven design, these steering dampers are able to dampen minute movements in the steering and reduce steering vibrations that naturally occur, especially in older vehicles. These steering dampers are zinc coated for resistance to harsh elements and match to all B8 5100 series products. B8 5100 (Steering Damper) will offer a significant improvement in steering, handling and comfort.

Big difference from the OEM steering damper. I have a 19’ F250 which is leveled and has 35” tires. The Bilstein damper has taken a lot of the “bumpiness” out of the steering wheel.

Bought a brand new 2021 F250 4wd 6.7 diesel and instantly noticed a lot of steering wheel vibrations on pavement and dirt roads. Many truck owners with same issue recommended the Bilstein 5100 steering dampner. After driving 6500 miles with the factory dampner I installed the Bilstein dampner and immediately noticed a major difference. Better handling, tighter steering feel, and eliminated bump steer. The final verdict is the factory dampner could not dampen road vibrations with factory tires….even though it sucks to spend more money on an already expensive truck it’s well worth the cost.

I had the dreaded Ford “death wobble” on my 2019 F250. Ford dealer advised that my steering damper needed replacement but Ford’s damper was back ordered by nearly 5,000! With a 2,000 mile summer vacation quickly approaching, I did some research and found that many other RVers found the Bilstein products solved the wobble. This damper was a quick replacement. Having a gear puller for the threaded end will be beneficial. Probably a 20 minute job. No issues during our 2,000 mile trip with travel trailer. Steering feels as solid as brand new. Great product. The stabilizer is great, but getting to the install is a different story. The OEM stabilizer is apparently pressed on at the factory. After about 2.5 hrs of beating, banging, drilling, heating, cussing, and finally cutting with a torch I was able to remove the OEM stabilizer. The new Bilstein went on in seconds!
