The front and rear control arms are responsible for holding the alignment angles of your wheels, like the camber angle which is the vertical alignment or tilt. Worn control arm bushings can allow the camber angle to drastically change when making a sharp quick turn and in extreme cases can reduce the amount of the tire’s contact patch which means less traction. When the OE (original equipment) rubber A arm bushings become worn due to age, wear, or the elements you could experience steering wander because of misaligned wheels. Even in good condition soft rubber bushings also deflect during a turn which can allow the lateral load transfer (shifting weight) of your vehicle to roll the body to the outside and make handling feel sloppy.
