Shipped fast. Description was accurate. Installation was to easy. Greatly improved the feel of my Cruiser. Couldn’t possibly be happier. Thanks Bilsteinlift for be a quality company.

I have installed 5100’s on three Toyotas (’04 Tacoma, ’00 Tundra, & ’07 FJ) The 112-620 springs + 5100’s are the way to go for leveling and beefing up your front end. I installed 5100’s on the FJ with 620 springs and a 1/4″ spacer on driver side. My used ’07 FJ came with 1 1/2″ spacers on front w/stock shocks & springs. Do not waste your money on spacer kits, just go for the 5100’s and 112-620 toytec springs. Road ride is better, off road is way-better, travel is increased. 1 1/2″ front spring spacers just limit your travel and cost same. You need 1/4″ driver side spacer too (above spring plate), almost counter acts driver, gas tank, and front driveline system weight, all on left side. The 5100 Billy’s are the only ones to buy, don’t scrimp and get OME shocks. Lowest clip setting on 5100’s with 112-620’s lifts front 1.5″, each clip adds .85″ of lift. I used 2nd clip and front is level with rear which has 2″ spacer on stock springs. But buy all 4 shocks, don’t scrimp – they are way better that OME.

Used the 5100’s to replace the stock X-REAS system on my 2004 4Runner. The ride is amazing now, better than I ever remember with X-REAS. Installation was straightforward. Couldn’t be more happy.

  4. Buck

Fit perfect! Only thing is I had to use the old bushing for the rear shocks. Great product and great price!

  5. Josh

Contacted customer service which was very quick and helpful. Best price I could find. Product looks great, shipping was fast, and I’m ready to install in my 2006 4Runner to replace my X-REAS system.

  6. E

Perfect fit, lifted my front end by 2.75 inches. Nice ride , looks great and comfort.

  7. kyle

    2004 4Runner 4×4 V6. Great ride. Love them.

  8. Michael

Like many others, I used the 5100 kit to replace the X-REAS system on my 2005 4Runner. Ride is much more crisp, a little stiffer than the stock system, but not quite like a “Truck-ride”. I installed the front system at the 3-clip position to raise the front ~1.75″ lift. This did raise the front pretty close to 1.75″ and leveled out nicely (still ~1″ front rake). It seems like the front lift did not effect the ride as much as I anticipated it, due to the internal valving (damping/ rebound) on the front shocks. Bilstein knows that most installers are looking to get the 1-2″ lift out of the system and have valved the front shocks according. Rear hardware was excellent and a great fit. Remember to purchase new front upper shock mounts (not included in the kit).

Application: 2004 GX470. I used these 5100’s with the OME 883 coils up front. On the middle perch it raised the front of the rig a hair under 3 inches. The price on this site is the best I found. The ride up front is very lively (never had a Bilsteins before). Going to get them out on the trails soon for the true test.

  10. jaxstas

After I put the spring seat on correctly, everything came together nice. Replaced all 4. This is not as soft as the X-REAS, but get great feel for road. Is a nice mixture of being able to feel the road, but still be a comfortable ride.

  11. Guy McCabe

Love this kit! Added diff drop and new strut mounts to make this set up complete. Took almost 2 hours to put together and super easy. Drives and handles better than factory and looks good! Lift looks spot on and new 285/70/17 BF’s fit with no rub!

  12. John

I put the 5100 series on my 2008 FJ Cruiser. They fit perfect and in the last week since I put them on seem to work well, too!

  13. Paul

Just installed. Fits great. 1.75″ setting allowed a stock FJC to now ride level. Needs alignment and all will look and ride great. IMO the best suspension upgrade to those not wishing Jack the ride height to extensive levels.

  14. Victor

I purchased these for my 2007 FJ Cruiser to avoid “leveling kits” that use blocks. I read on several FJ Forums that using Bilstein 5100 Series would level out the front end of the FJ Cruiser, by about 2″ (3rd notch). I’m currently running the next tire size up from stock, 285/75/16 with no rubbing on day to day driving in the city. The shocks look and feel great so far, I can feel the difference, definitely an upgrade from stock and reasonably priced. I’m looking forward to getting these off-road. I emailed BilsteinLifts before purchasing with questions and they were a big help, thanks dudes!

  15. Branden DuPen

Replaced the old XREAS system on my 2006 4runner and have no complaints so far. raised the front 2 1/2” in the front. With the B12 springs in the rear it’s almost exactly level. Stiffer than stock but not too stiff. Best bang for your buck

  16. Ray Twetan

Just put these on and they are great. Much smoother ride than stock. Paired them with Toytec-Eibach 1.6-3″ Front Lift Coil Springs for Tacoma, 4Runner and put them on the second setting .85. This gave my 2005 V8 4×4 4runner a 3 inch lift. I paired the back with Bilstein B12 2.5″ Rear Coil Springs Heavy Load for 2003-2009 Toyota 4Runner which gave it about 2.5″ lift.

  17. Kevin Duckett

Shocks are amazing they ride smooth and my lift height was achieved……. but the customer service on the other hand is complete garbage they don’t care about there customers they lie about the commitments they make and then try to act dumb and say it’s not there fault when clearly it is I will never recommend Bilsteinlifts.com and I will not be buying my next 3lifts for my other three trucks from them below I have listed some pictures of our emails that have been going on back and forth since 02-27-2020 side note there was 1 or two people that did help me that were very nice and tried to fix the problem but other people just don’t care more do they understand what integrity is

We apologize for inconvenience. We now changed our approach to selling these shocks and we now carry these spare parts and can ship them out quickly without having to wait for manufacturer.

  18. Mike bell

Stop being cheap and just buy the shocks once you see your truck afterwards you will be very happy I went back and forth for about 6 months and never again I just told her to set for an Isuzu Trooper that I’m building these shocks are the absolute best. Sorry about the grammar I don’t do grammar LOL

  19. Simon

Just installed these with moot fj coil springs. So far soo good. The only complaint I have is that all the bushings, washers and nuts came in one of the shocks box without instructions of how they go on and in which order. It made it really confusing and time consuming for me to really figure the right way to put them on. At one point I thought each box had its own hardware but no it’s for all of them

  20. Rudel Antonio

Awesome result after installed on my sons 4rh gen 4runner. Pls keep in mind that when install. Pay attention to the cup portion. We made the mistake on installing in reverse. Something wasn’t right when we noticed how tight and compressed the springs were on the strut assembly. After we figured it out. It was a breeze!

  21. John

Great product fixed my sloppy ride and now is smoother and more rigid along with leveling my front end

  22. Dennis W.

I put this suspension on my 2008 4 Runner and now I am doing the same on my 2005 4 Runner. The ride is positively amazing and a vast improvement over the stock set-up.

These parts worked fine, but you need to add a Top Hat option for a complete kit. PM

As stated when I ordered, the shocks came from two different warehouses. The first box was extremely damaged in shipping & the set was haphazardly taped together with no other protection for the original flimsy boxes. Because of this, the washer/“stopper” piece for the upper attachment on the front shocks were missing on one side since the box had holes in it. Unfortunately my mechanic discovered this once my 4Runner was already ripped apart. The second box from a different warehouse was properly packaged with the pair put in another shipping box. Overall NOT impressed with this company & their customer service.

  25. Scott

I installed on my 2009 FJ using the 3rd ring position. This raised the front 1.75″ and leveled my FJ. The ride is great, feels more like a light truck now than a soft car ride. I’m running BFG A/T 265-75-16 KO2’s.

  26. Hank

Used to replace the XREAS system on my 2004 4Runner. Coupled with 2885 OME springs and it is a nice ride now. Easy install and looks great.
