OVERVIEW:
This ICON Stage 2 suspension system for the 2010-UP Toyota 4Runner uses the same components as the Stage 1 system with a few simple changes and additions. The 2.5 Series coilover shocks used in this system are the Extended Travel version, offering increased wheel travel that will enhance your on and off-road performance even more so than the standard travel units. Since these shocks do provide more suspension travel, they require the use of an ICON upper control arm.
This system features upper control arms with ICON’s patent pending Delta Joint. The Delta Joint is a heavy duty high angle ball joint that combines the durability of a ball joint with the performance characteristics of a traditional uniball. While the industry standard uniball does a great job of allowing the control arms of a vehicle to articulate with little bind, they do have an inherent weakness that leaves more to be desired when used in a daily driven application – exposure to the elements. The Delta Joint features a zinc plated housing providing the first layer of corrosion resistance, while a tough grease seal keeps potentially harmful elements out of the inner workings of the joint. Metal on metal construction and a greasable design increase the longevity of the Delta Joint while at the same time allowing for noise-free operation. What makes the Delta Joint unique is that it brings the best of both worlds to ICON upper control arms with features that make it more robust than a uniball, and at the same time capable of greater angularity than a typical ball joint.

Totally worth the money. Rides like a dream both on-road and off. No more nose dives and body roll. The whole order came within 1 week. No issues whatsoever.

These shocks were shipped out pretty quickly! Upon opening the boxes they were well packaged.
We installed the shocks on a new 2018 Toyota 4runner SR5. We chose to go with 17×8.5 SCS S8 wheels, and the Toyo AT3’s (285/70/17). To prevent rubbing when turning far left or far right and up and down speed bumps I had to do the following in the front wheel area in this order: I removed the plastic hiding the pinch welds, hammered down the pinch welds, then used a dremel and multiple levels of grit and polish paper to cut and sand down 1-1.5 inch tapered from the front bumper, lastly to suffice offroad I had to do the body mount chop. The chop was very easy having owed a welder and angle grinder. I used blue tape for a few days on each side to measure where the rub was really happening. This allowed me to not over-cut my body mounts.
I love this setup. No mushy rocking of the body, no roll, eats speed bumps for breakfast, you can cut corners really tight at much higher speeds, the vehicle is abundantly responsive and keeps traction in so many more situations on and off road. My wife and I take turns tag teaming this 4runner. It’s her daily but we off-road it together. This system is safer than stock suspension. Don’t let your father-in-law tell you otherwise…
