Bilstein B8 5100 Front (Ride Height Adjustable) shock absorbers are designed for trucks and SUV’s with a front OE coilover style suspension. Multiple snap-ring grooves in the body allow for different spring seat positions, providing 0-2 inches of front lift (depending on application). The monotube shock absorbers feature a 46mm digressive piston a with self-adjusting deflective disc valve setting. Bilstein B8 5100 (Ride Height Adjustable) shock absorbers provide increased wheel travel and improved handling. Utilizing a B8 5100 (Ride Height Adjustable) shock absorber is the easiest way to level out your vehicle.

    I wasn’t looking to jack my truck up for rock crawling, I just wanted a small 2″ lift to accommodate slightly bigger tires on my 2017 Tacoma 4×4 long bed, crewcab. I regularly hang a 70lb motorcycle carrier and 250 bike off the back of my truck and needed a little more height to keep the rack from dragging. I used the Billie 5100s with a 1″ spacer block and Hellwig helper springs on the rear and just the Billie 5100’s, set to the top notch, on the front. I’m no suspension guru but the difference is pretty noticeable, stiffer but still planted, not a “jarring” ride. Less body roll for sure. Rides like a truck should, not all squishy like a car. Do yourself a favor and either buy the really good spring compressors or have a pro knock it out for you, I did my own and collapsing the springs was pretty sketchy. If you’re using them on a newer Tacoma, un-do the sway bar on both sides and swing it up out of the way, then its easy.

    Very satisfied with My 5100s, for my 16 taco 4×4 sport. I placed the shocks on botch 3 giving me 1.1 inch lift making the truck level and keeping the comfort ride. Only down part is I was charged a fee by my bank cuz it was a “foreign transaction fee” so be aware if you plan to use a credit card

    Just installed and getting alignment today so haven’t done a lot of driving since I got them installed but I can say this, I was worried about over preloading my stock coils as some had warned and concerned my ride would suffer. However, my ride is the same or slightly better. The clips allow the preload to remain as close to stock as you can get with stock coils on a lifted shock. So far I’m very happy with this kit, looking forward to getting the alignment done so I can go up into the mountains for some fun!

    2018 Toyota Tacoma Access cab 4-cylinder…. center position leveled the truck out nicely with just a slight rake. My son is very happy with the look and the ride quality. Highly recommend!

    These shocks made my 2019 TRD Sport feel like like a truck is suppose to feel. My intention for the Bilstein 5100’s was to level my truck, so I placed the ring on the 4th setting which leveled it perfectly. My truck is a 2 wheel drive model. Hope this review helps someone out.
    Can’t go wrong with Bilstein shocks.

    Install was super easy. Just have a good spring compressor (not the $30 one from horrible freight. Trust me) or take the struts to a shop to have them compress the springs and bolt in the new shocks. If you do that, set the retaining clip in the notch you want otherwise the shop might leave them at stock height.

    Giving 4 stars because I have to redo the front end. Put it on 4th notch (1.55″) but wound up with about 2″ of lift. Now the front sits a little higher than the rear. Had to order a AAL for the rear and will need to move the front shocks up to the 5th notch to level it out. Otherwise a good product.

    You also have to do both front wheels at once. To get the old strut assembly out you have to swing the sway bar out of the way. Make sure you have the proper tools, check your torque specs and get an alignment after and you’ll be good to go.

    I was able to get 275/70/17s under with no rubbing at full lock on the 4th notch. Probably could have even crammed 285/70s.

    5100’s what a great set up. Set the front at 1.5” of lift. Rear lift 1.5” keeping factory rake. Ride is great. Can’t go wrong.

    Purchased these for my 2017 crew cab sr5 tacoma. I was impressed out of the box with how much beefier these shocks were compared to oem and the 4600 series found on the trd offroads. Installed for a 1.5” lift in the front. Haven’t had too many miles on them. However, they did make a rutted out dirt road feel smooth and paved even at speed. Great product.

    Bilstien is a great product for the price… When I ordered this kit it came within a few day which I was happy about. Packaging was absolutely horrible. When I opened the box it looked like the shocks/struts I got where just taken off another vehicle. Parts where out of the package and laying everywhere… I believe I got used parts.. I didn’t return them because after inspection everything looked ok. Very unhappy with what I got I guess you get what you pay for.. Very unprofessional… Definitely going with fox shocks next..

    Can’t beat this setup for the price. Great upgrade from stock struts and shocks for 3rd gen 2019 Tacoma TRD Off Road Double Cab 4X4 5ft bed. Leveled out the truck on the 3rd clip setting (1.1″) with stock coils and no addition to the rear other than the 5100 shocks. Great ride quality. I feel more planted on the road with the stiffer suspension and longer travel. This is the way it should have come from the factory. Along with the provided instructions, there are plenty of YouTube videos to help with the install. Next addition is Eibach 2″ coils, AAL in the rear and diff drop. Thanks.

    Installed at top notch on 2019 TRD Offroad V6 SCSB using stock springs. Combined rear with Icon 1.5 AAL. Maintains factory feel with better control while cornering and reduced nose dive when braking. These should come factory. Best price on these and shipping was fast even with the pandemic.

    Great suspension/lift for anyone like me who is in the road 95% of the time but want the durability to ease the mind when off-road that 5% of the year. Felt good about swapping out the bilstein 4600s to the 5100s knowing the Toyota already worked well with a bilstein product. Added 2” eibach coils and a wulf 2” add a leaf to go with the 5100s. Kept the rake the same for future weight in the bed. Couldn’t be happier. Did the install myself from diy vids and manufacturer torque specs found online, saved hundreds in the install due due to simplicity of the product and peace of mind that they all are comparable with my taco.     This is my second bilstein lift from these guys.
    The customer service, however, this time was abysmal!
    Even though I obviously paid for the kit when ordered, the shipping dept added a C.O.D. charge to my package.
    Instead of canceling the charge, Bilstein Lifts sent me a text informing of said charge and offered to reimburse once I paid.
    Seeing as I’ve never ordered anything C.O.D before, how could I know that UPS WILL NOT accept cash!!
    Since I knew the package was “out for delivery “, I began taking my truck apart in preparation.
    Lo and behold, the UPS driver and his supervisor almost called the police on me when shoved $27 cash at them and grabbed my package from the driver!!

    In the end, I had to bum a ride from a neighbor to my nearest MONEY ORDER seller and then contact UPS and wait for them to return with said package. (The truck was still in pieces in the garage).

    I even contacted bilstein lifts and asked them to call the UPS 800 number to cancel the charge, which the UPS supervisor said they could do, and NOTHING!

    NEVER AGAIN!

    Improved ride and handling, truck looks great leveled out, and the lift showed up on time and in good shape. Other site had long lead times. I would definitely recommend a bilstien lift and buying from bilstienlifts.com. 2018 Tacoma with bilstien 5100 adjustable shock leveling kit.

    So far so good, though I have less than a hundred miles on them. Seems to ride nice, and comfortable. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because I was looking for 1.5″ up front, but the 4th clip was more like 2″ inches of added height, so a tad nose high.

    Shocks came very quick. Got the exact look I wanted on my 2018 TRD 4 door with 6 foot bed. Found a local shop to install the shocks for 250. Highly recommend getting a front end alignment after. Truck drives noticeably different..more like how a truck should feel. Ordered on a Sunday and they were on the doorstep Wednesday morning! This is the way to level your Tacoma!
