Bilstein B8 6112 leveling kits are designed to provide more ground clearance, allow for larger tires, and increase wheel travel. Multiple snap-ring grooves in the body allow for different spring seat positions, providing 0-2.75 inches of front lift (depending on application). These kits consist of (2) 60mm shock absorbers combined with (2) custom matched cold wound coil springs and (2) billet aluminum spring seats. The large 60mm digressive piston allows for increased damping control for optimal on-road and off-road capabilities. Bilstein B8 5160 remote reservoir shock absorbers are designed as a direct fit solution for lifted trucks and SUV’s. The remote reservoir will offer increased cooling capacity and wheel travel to optimize overall performance compared to a traditional shock absorber. These shock absorbers feature a monotube design for consistent fade free performance and utilize velocity sensitive digressive valve settings which are tuned for each specific application. Each shock absorber is fitted with a unique 360 degree swivel banjo hose fitting, providing a clean, low profile installation. B8 5160 remote reservoir shock absorbers will increase overall durability of your vehicle allowing you to conquer the harshest of off-road environments.

    Front shocks arrive with a few paint chips on the springs. I have to touch up the paint before installing them. Overall the shocks look great on my 2022 Tacoma TRD Sport. Love the new stance of my truck and feel more planted on the ride compare the stock shocks.

    The kit arrived quickly and assembled as requested. Pre-assembled makes it easier to install, though changing clip positions isn’t terribly difficult either.

    I requested (and received) the fronts on position 5/4, drove with it for a day, and decided that I would prefer it at 4/3. I’m glad that this offers the ability to adjust height to individual taste, and that it’s relatively easy to change one’s mind.

    Performance wise these shocks are everything the TRD Sport should have been. Very planted on the road, even lifted it still tackles corners like a car (I kept the sway bar), but soaks up big bumps like an off-roader. This suspension is an impossible anomaly: firm when it needs to be, pliant at other times, and yet still a budget choice.

    I’m pretty happy with the kit, and the prices I found on this website were better than the others I had compared with.

    I have the suspension installed and the truck ride is much better.
    I have the TRD sport with 6 foot bed (See before and after pics) , added Bilstein 6112 up front set to 5/4 as well as the 5160 in the rear with the icon add a leaf,(over load leaf removed…)
    This has given me an even 1.5” lift front and back , this was 2 weeks after settlement. I did want to maintain my rake.
    I think this is one of the best buys out there for suspension and quality of product.

    Off Road has a much better ride, I am not hard core , but for what I do I am very happy , the rears really settle out well after large bumps.

    Be aware that you may get the new version of the 6112 which matches the available clip settings and lift height on the product page OR you may receive the old version which doesn’t. I selected the 10/8 clip settings for an anticipated lift height of 1.7″. I received the old version of the 6112 on the 5/4 clip setting with an anticipated lift of 1.5″. I wasn’t notified, but was told they’re sending out whichever version is in stock and not necessarily the version you order.

    Other than that, shipping was very quick.

    Exceeding expectations – what an upgrade over stock Tacoma Off Road shocks. Had mine arrive in stock height – too many negatives to run a lift. Install was not easy on front 6112’s as the bottom attachment holes don’t want to line up well w/ truck mounts. Had to get a punch tool to line them up to get bolt through.

    Great upgrade over stock trd off-road suspension. With the pre built kit I was able to install everything in a single morning. Highly recommend this kits on road and off-road performance for the price.

    Shipping was super fast and the shocks/struts came packaged very well. I ordered the 6112’s and 5160 with the clip height set to the stock setting. After 5 days the springs have settled to exactly the same as stock height on my 2019 SR 4WD double cab Tacoma. Install took just over 2 hours with basic tools. I will say that despite some of the instructional videos out there, you do not need to loosen the lower control arm bolts, a pry bar will allow you enough clearance to get the old strut out and the new one in. Ride quality is similar to stock on road, but I have noticed that it does seem to handle potholes and rail road crossings better in a way that it seems more stable than before.

      Quick update! I wanted to level my truck so I went ahead and moved the clip settings to the 9/7 (1.4 inches of lift) positions and re-assembled. My truck is now perfectly level, withing 1/8″ front and rear and left to right. I was concerned that ride quality would suffer going to a higher clip setting giving the springs more pre-load but to my surprise it felt the same as the stock height clip setting. Awesome setup that was a huge improvement over stock on-road. I have yet to try any offroad driving yet but hope to soon.

    Works as advertised. Install was not too hard, first side took a minute but 2nd side was a breeze after I had it figured. Running 285 75r16, stock uca’s with 0 offset wheels, no rub and street but probably will need to do some trimming for offroad flex. Probably wouldn’t do the ikon AAL don’t think I got the full 1.5 as advertised and will be throwing the overload spring back in once I get the shell and drawer system in.
