Bilstein B8 5160 remote reservoir shock absorbers are designed as a direct fit solution for lifted trucks and SUVs. The remote reservoir will offer increased cooling capacity and wheel travel to optimize overall performance compared to a traditional shock absorber. These shock absorbers feature a monotube design for consistent fade free performance and utilize velocity sensitive digressive valve settings which are tuned for each specific application. Each shock absorber is fitted with a unique 360 degree swivel banjo hose fitting and an attractive billet reservoir mount where applicable providing a clean, low profile installation. B8 5160 remote reservoir shock absorbers will increase overall durability of your vehicle allowing you to conquer the harshest of off-road environments.

Skeptical whether to spend a little more money and get fox but ended up buying these. Don’t regret my decision at all! Love these struts and they have been holding up great! The ride difference between these and the stock struts on my 05 Tacoma have been night and day!

fantastic and look cool too (comes with the billet mount) get the 6112 front also. I went with the 5100 in the front to save money and notice the difference.

My rear end feels great with the 5160. Well worth the money

Their zinc finish is horrible. drove 3 times in snow with salt. Wash after each time, and the are completely corroded. They looks like the are 10yrs old, (pulled out of a ocean). I would coat them with Sharkhide or something alike.

Love them , replaced my aging 5100’s with 20K miles . The off road experience is night and day with the remote reservoirs !!
Thanks for another great product Bilstein USA .

These shocks are the third order I have received from Bilsteinlifts and I have to say this company is on point! The shipping is fast, the products are in good shape, and they answer any and all questions I ask.
As far as the Bil 5160’s. These rear shocks are incredible! They took me about 2-3 hours to install and I tried them out on the trails up at Big Bear this last weekend. The shock and reservoir did get really hot but they did their job well and paired with the 6112’s up front it is like a match made in heaven!

Replaced my Bilstein 5100 series shocks on my 2nd Gen Tacoma in the rear. I wasn’t sure how much of a difference these shocks would be than the 5100, which I really liked (still have them on the front). I was blown away at the difference. The 5100’s are really good but the 5160’s are incredible. On the highway I didn’t notice much of a difference other than they are much newer than what I had. The difference that came into play was off road. On just a basic two track fire road, the articulation, absorption of the bumps was massively noticeable. There wasn’t any shock fade on the washboard and I can’t prove this but it sure feels like the truck flexes a lot more than it previously did. That may just be wishful thinking and my imagination. I highly recommend these and will be purchasing the front with new coils and the spacer (pre built) from Bilstein Lifts in the coming months. For installation, it was pretty darn easy. If you have ever changed out your shocks, then you will have no issues with these. They fit like a glove and needed some silicon spray in the lower mount by the axle as the rubber grommets make for an exceptional tight fitment. Have had five sets of 5100’s between by Tacoma and Forerunner and a “fan boy” of Bilstein. Didn’t think this model up would be that much of a difference but it definitely is.
